4Sturdier than expected
By Jmccl2005
I didn't expect this bike carrier to be as robust and strong as it is.
I mounted 2 bikes on a trip back from Biloxi, MS to Tampa Bay, FL and each time I gassed up, I checked the bikes to make sure they were still there. I was surprised to see that the carrier hadn't become even a little loose or even the straps that hold the bikes hadn't come loose either.
One issue that I did notice which you should be aware of,.....because of different bike frames these days, the bike sitting closest to the trailer (the inside bike) may suffer some scratches from the swiveling part of the carrier. There is just enough metal contact on the bike that the road bumps would have scratched the paint off the bike, therefore I placed a small rag towel in between, to keep them from coming into contact.
Other than that, I HIGHLY recommend this carrier for 2 bikes.
I would suggest also getting the girls' bike adapter bar so the girl's bike you may have on there doesn't look li ke it's falling off the carrier. So many people choose to avoid the adapter bar and it looks absolutely awful going down the road s if the bike is gonna fall off the vehicle.
Anyway, after our long trip, the carrier and straps were as tight as they were when we left a day earlier. I can't even imagine how they could have a better carrier out there. My opinion of course, although, I can feel confident in saying that, after my experience.
Have fun!

3It's cool for what I need it for...
By Kristy
Received and started putting together... the bottom peice (actual receiver part), the holes did not match up with the holes on the rack peice, I had to drill them bigger to be able to put the bolts through. Once all together it works fine. I wish there was a better way to lock it to my hitch, I have a hitch lock but it didn't fit through the bike rack part, they provide a bolt and nut that needs to be screwed together everytime you are going to use and remove the bike rack. But without that bolt the entire bike rack is moving from side to side. I guess I will keep my wrenches in the car.

4Allen hitch bike rack for two
By donaldpeter28
This is a great bike rack. I wanted a hitch bike rack to keep the rack away from the paint on my Camry. The bike installs easy. Its robust. I use it for my Giant XTC980 mountain bike once a week. The only issue I have is that the rack doesn't lock to your hitch. It is held on by a nut and bolt meaning someone could steal it.
